What is ‘going-on’ underneath?
This title / theme addresses more directly ‘the divine dimension of life’ as against previous article – ‘What lies beneath?’ – which delineated on ‘the human behavioural enigma’. In a sense we are going to reflect – at a deeper level – on the active, as against passive, aspects of ‘the divine / human mystery’.
The ‘short, simple, straight’ answer to our headline question is: ‘God in Action’. You will need to read: The Reality of God’s ‘PRO’-VISION: to understand this concept.
It’s appropriate, here, again, to look at the ‘big picture’: what on earth in heaven’s name is ‘going-on’? (vis a vis: Creator / Creation / Creatures). Let’s restate & review some of the relevant ‘snippets’ set-out in other articles –
- All that exists is God’s gift.
- Gift, Grace, Glory.
- Giver of Life.
Now, that said, we are going to try to ‘pull-together’ all these dimensions by repeating, for the umpteenth time, one of God’s ‘sum-up’ Bible quotes: “Behold, I make all things new” (Revelations 21:5). This – in my view – is all about ‘God’s time’ (kairos) or – in other words – ‘the opportunity of the present moment’. The ‘appearance’ may be that we (humans / citizens of the world) are caught-up in many an endeavour (good / bad / indifferent), but the ‘reality’ is: ‘God is running the show’ (whether we like it or not).
So, let’s ‘zero-in’, again, on: ‘God in Action’. God, in a ‘child-like’ interpretation, is: ‘perpetual motion’ generating life. He is ‘Trinitarian’ (overflowing in goodness, truth & love): He is ‘Father, Son & Holy Spirit’: He is ‘Reciprocal, Mutual, Complementary’. The personal challenge – for each of us – is: do we “recognize” what is ‘going-on’? / do we “realize” what is ‘on-going’?
Our ‘God-Given-Life’ translates – in ‘human / divine’ terms – as ‘incarnation / passion / resurrection’ – as: WAY: ‘VIA’ (Value / Identity / Affirmation) of Jesus the Christ: “I came that you may have life & have it to the full” ( John 10:10): ‘Christ enables us to live in him all that he himself lived, & he lives it in us’ (CCC 521). The focus is on another ‘Way of Being’: the nurturing of the fullness of life (‘VIA’) in others: reaching-out in love: thus fulfilling the command: “love as I have loved”.
The mystery of all mysteries is enclosed in the Trinity: ‘God in His action makes Himself present’, as ‘Father, Son & Holy Spirit’. We – miserable human beings – are in a ‘desert’ place / space, unless we are ‘tuned-in’ to God (as Trinity). So, what are we to “do”? / what are we to “be”? Here’s the Good News for everyone: we are to “be” – ‘an other Christ’: we follow Jesus the Christ, who ‘prayed, preached, practiced’: The Our Father.
In summation of the ideas set-out in Booklet / eBook – The “GLOW” of Happiness / ‘FIT’ for Purpose – & these ‘Konect 1-2-1’ series of articles: we have addressed the ‘primary-personal-privation’ for ‘Assured Being Connectivity’ (‘ABC’): we have stated that all problems are psychological & that all solutions are spiritual: & we have focused on how the Father sent His Son, ‘via’ the Holy Spirit, to bring His wandering children back home. In a sense – all our Christmases came at once – as we have been ‘Lost’ & ‘Found’.
All this begs the question – which is personal to each of us – ‘where are you’ on this earthly journey? The all encompassing answer we have ‘un-earthed’ is: ‘we joyfully discover ‘where we are’ when our ‘horizontal mode of life’ & our ‘vertical mode of life’ CROSS each other & are RECONCILED’.
As you will have noted: we have set-out an awful lot of ‘ABC’s trying to simplify this ‘pondering’ journey – based on an adaptation of Jesus the Christ words: “unless you become ‘child-like’ you cannot PLAY”. Now, we offer ‘child-like’ keys – in the form of ‘123’ – to contemplate, when you are in reflective mode: “be still & know that I am God”.
1: Every person needs some ‘One’ to hold-on to;
2: And that some ‘One’ needs to be ‘Three-in-One’ (Father / Son / Holy Spirit).
3: Let’s respond: (on lips) ‘Glory & Praise to our God’: (in heart) ‘In You I trust’.
