The Way (“VIA”)
As everything that appears on this website is ‘relational’, I must draw your attention to the fact that the above title / theme is taken from the content of the most recent article (entitled): The Reality of God’s ‘PRO’-VISION.
In the 1st century, the followers of Jesus, the Christ were known as the practitioners of ‘The Way’. Now, in the 21st century, it’s opportune to re-ignite the fervour shown by that ‘early-earthly’ Church community. The memory of “The Master” was still alive i.e. full of meaning, relevance & purpose.
What I am ‘putting-out-here’ (in media lingo) is a ‘PRO’-POSITION that the ‘New’ Evangelisation (currently in vogue) be ‘re-rooted’ in The Way of this ‘old’ evangelisation. It’s time – 20 centuries later – to get our “VIA” membership (‘Value Identity Affirmation’) back on track.
What is needed, above all, is Assured Based Christians – in childlike ‘ABC’ mode – who ‘re-trace / re-enter / re-apply’ the ‘other Christ’ pattern or ‘way-of-living’. This ‘formation’ concept has been expressed in the Booklet / eBook: The “GLOW” of Happiness / “FIT for Purpose: (with reference to: Carl Houselander) as:
“Each of us, is an ‘other Christ’!”
“Each of us, is called to be an ‘other Christ’ in the world!”
“Each of us, is to live out, in a unique way, some aspect of ‘the Christ life’!”
As sinners – which is everyones primary ‘qualification’ – like our Holy Father Pope Francis ‘own’ description – like the repentant thief (who was being crucified beside Jesus on Calvary) – we need to sincerely say to Jesus, the Christ: “RE-MEMBER-ME” i.e. make me a ‘member’ again.
We tend to ‘see’ ourselves as: ‘humans beings striving to be spiritual’, when the reality is, we are: ‘spiritual beings seeking to be human’. This ‘blindness’ is expressed in the ‘hand-out’: “Happy are those who recognize they are LOST & realize they are FOUND”. That is the Good News that Jesus, the Christ came on earth to deliver & which He wants us – His adopted children – to Receive, Restore, Return (as per previous articles).
The new word introduced above: ‘PRO’-POSITION: has a significant connection with the word: ‘PRO’-VISION, as set-out in the three preceding articles. Obviously, ‘PRO’ (i.e. ‘Perfect Relational Order’) is common ground, in all cases, but ‘POSITION’: what is that about? It is a ‘sat-nav’ view of ‘place / state’: WHERE ARE YOU? (see ‘hand-out’). If the latter is not available, here’s the quote: “We joyfully discover ‘where we are’ when our ‘horizontal mode of living’ (i.e. social) & our ‘vertical mode of living’ (i.e. spiritual) CROSS each other & are reconciled”.
To pull all this introduction to The Way (“VIA”) together, I’ll draw your attention to a ‘firm faith foundation’ statement set-down in the Booklet / eBook (see ADDENDUM (7) ‘switched-on emotions’): Jesus Christ is the perfect representation of an AFFIRMED & AFFIRMING person.
In summary: All our ponderings (from the word ‘go’ on 12/12/12) have been about: the very obvious social & spiritual ‘dis-connect’ in our lives. What is suggested here is: The Way (“VIA”) might be the means to ‘re-connect’ our lives & fulfill Jesus great commandment: “Love as I have loved”. Hopefully, the ‘ingredients’ of these monthly ‘Konect 1-2-1’ ‘recipes’ may be ‘food for thought’, also.
