The “STUCK” Factor! What’s it all about?
If you have been reading Articles in the Booklet / eBook (The “GLOW” of Happiness / “FIT” for Purpose) & on this website (Konect 1-2-1) you will have come across the term “STUCK”, quite a few times. But, the particular expression: ‘The “STUCK” Factor’ : comes from the Booklet’s ‘back page cover’ (see photo-shot of same on the right of your screen) / set above a ‘specific quotation’. In short, ‘The “STUCK” Factor’ title, seeks to focus on the ‘riddle’ in that ‘message’.
let us try & see what is ‘hidden’ (in ‘clear view’) under the Bible reference: Ecclesiastes 3:15. It says: “what has been, is now; what is to be, has already been; & God requires that which is past”. What this ‘twister’ seems to say is: your past (“what has been”) is ‘going-on’ in the present (“is now”) & your future (“what is to be”) is ‘going-to-be’ the same as the past (“has already been”). You might well ask: “what does all this mean?”.
The reality is: we are being told something important about human life. These words are addressed to all of us. The question, everyone of us has to consider, is: do I recognise these ‘tell-tale’ signs, in my life? Do I ‘think / feel’: that my life is ‘caught-up’ in a ‘bind’ / that my life is ‘on hold’ / that I am, somehow, ‘bound’ / ‘imprisoned’? If you begin to reflect on this startling revelation & ‘sense’ some relevance to your life, you might ask yourself: “who the ‘hell’ – because the condition is ‘pure hell’ – could have done this to me?” Well! I have ‘shocking’ news for you: you did this (‘coding / programming’) to yourself!
You might ask: “how could this happen?”. To answer this question, I have to bring you back to the ‘opening statement’ – in the Booklet / eBook – which sets-down the overall ‘context’. This says: “If we weren’t DIS-FUNCTIONAL we wouldn’t be NORMAL”. Another way of expressing this concept is to acknowledge – as Pope Francis has done – our ‘base-line’ human condition as ‘sinners’. In our ‘connected / dis-connected’ environment, relational events ‘crop-up’ (from time to time, in our every day lives) that can ‘vary’ – again, as set out in the Booklet / eBook – from ‘nasty’ (Abandoned / Betrayed / Condemned) to ‘nice’ (Affirmed / Blessed / Celebrated).
The critical issue – when circumstances are ‘negative & nasty’ – is: what tends to happen, when a person – particularly a vulnerable child – is made subject to a ‘devastating traumatic experience’? As far as we can understand the situation: the victim’s ‘survival instincts’ kick into action: they ‘run for cover’ &, immediately, lock the ‘door of their heart’ (from the ‘in-side-out’) to protect ‘self’ against possible repeat ‘pain / suffering’. They, in effect, ‘promise’ / ‘vow’ / ‘encode’ – ‘automatic instructions’ – not to allow him/herself to be distressed again. This becomes the ‘key’ to their 24/7 ‘safety & security’. But is it? Have they, somehow – unwittingly – ‘locked themselves up’ & ‘thrown away the key’?
An interesting ‘farming’ parallel is set-out in the Parable of the Wheat & the Tares (Matthew 13: 24-30,36-43). It is to be noted that “tares” / “darnel” / “weeds” were ‘sown’ (with mal intent) when the crop was in it’s ‘formation’ stage. The question of how to ‘up-root’ what had been added & ‘save’ the wheat posed a real challenge! The same conundrum arises in relation to any person ‘poisoned’ / ‘wounded’ by evil affects.
As I keep repeating – throughout the mix of Articles presented – ‘all problems are psychological (i.e. ‘horizontal’) & all solutions are spiritual (i.e. ‘vertical’). This means the ‘reconciliation’ of the “Cross” comes into play, or, as is so aptly worded in “our” Bible ‘message’ (with the ‘riddle’): “God requires that which is past”.
Ponder: “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32). What is the “truth”? / Who is the “truth”? Jesus Christ is the “truth”! When we discover the truth in Jesus Christ, we are – always – set free emotionally, psychologically & spiritually. Note: ‘sin enslaves us; truth sets us free’.
