Living the real life of Jesus the Christ

Let’s ‘begin’ the New Year with the ‘end’ in mind. Yes, our ‘title theme’ (in #33 mode) is focused on the JOYFUL anticipation of our ‘desired destination deliverance’. So, let’s ‘stand back’ and ‘take in’ the ‘Big Picture’ of ‘Life itself’ –

Every instant of existence is: God given

Each second, minute, hour, day is: God’s will

God saying: “I love you” / “I love you” / “I love you”

What an awesome ‘proposition prospect provision’. Yes (again) –

God generates every instant of our life

All we have to ‘do’ is to open our eyes to ‘see’

All we have to ‘be’ is to manifest God’s will

Yes (again and again) ::: ‘You have made us for yourself, O’Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in You’ ( St. Augustine)  ::: ‘All that ‘exists’ is God’s gift and it all ‘exists’ to make God known to man, to make man’s life communion with God’ i.e. God makes all creation the ‘sign’ and ‘means’ of His Presence (Alexander Schmemann).

Ok, that’s the ‘Big Answer’ – which we all have heard countless times – without too much ‘belief / comprehension / relationality’ – but, what’s the ‘Big Question’ that ‘lies’ behind the Good News? As with all questions ‘clues’ are ‘hidden in clear view’ – so try and remember that dodgy word ‘lies’ (for future reference) –

What is man that You (Trinity) care for him?

Mortal man, that You keep him in (Your) mind

Man, just a breath, who fades like a shadow

Now, here, we have Shocking News ::: the human being is really ‘nothing’ (‘no thing’) ::: we are like sheep in wolves clothing ::: we negated our ‘original status’ in the ‘fall-out’ from the Fall – where the ‘twister (snake) twisted’ the truth (i.e. fed ‘lies’ to our first parents) – and left all mankind in Default mode (grasping ‘desperately despairingly despondently’ at false gods). So, you can begin to understand mankind’s great ‘human confusion’ about the ‘message / meaning’ of life itself (“if we weren’t dysfunctional, we wouldn’t be normal”).

In sum ::: in one ‘instance’ we manifest our humanity (i.e. ’existence’) ::: in another ‘instance’ we are immaterial (i.e. non ‘existence’). So, in reality, we are ‘nothing’, but ‘spirits’. What all this ‘wordage’ means is ::: we are ‘spiritual beings seeking’ to be ‘human’ (like the incarnation of Jesus Christ) ::: we are not ‘human beings trying’ to be ‘spiritual’ ( like all the hypocrites criticised by Jesus Christ).

So, how do we reconcile our ‘original – communion – status’ (“walking and talking with God”) and our ‘fallout – separation – status’ (“ashamed and hiding from God”)? There is only one way ::: Jesus the Christ “Way Truth Life” ::: ‘It was on the Cross that God in Christ dealt fully and finally with “self” (i.e. the ‘natural state’ from which all our sins flow’)’ (Miles J. Stanford).

As per Prayer Card ::: ‘Happy are those who recognise they are LOST and realise they are FOUND’ ::: ‘We joyfully discover WHERE WE ARE when our ‘horizontal mode of life’ (i.e. social) and our ‘vertical mode of life’ (i.e. spiritual) CROSS each other and are reconciled’.

Yes ::: the CROSS is WHERE real life was exemplified by Jesus the Christ ::: the CROSS  is WHERE outer and inner worlds meet ::: the CROSS is WHERE we come to understand God’s infinite love –

‘God in all people’ and so ‘all people in God’
