‘You can’t ‘Be’, until you ‘Become’, what you are’

The destiny of everything that lives is that it should reveal its true nature. All forms of life do so automatically, except the humankind. We, unlike flowers and animals, are endowed with ‘intelligence’, as well as ‘instinct’, which allows us to ‘see’ different possibilities and to make choices; and, as a result ‘suffer’ or ‘enjoy’ the result of our own actions. In addition, we are, also, created “in the image and likeness” of God and this adds a 3rd dimension to our ‘person’. A big part of our ‘task’ in life is learning what is “right, true and good” as compared with what is “wrong, false and bad”. In humble, childlike mode ::: ‘we are here to ‘find’ self, not to ‘prove’ self’. Note, again: to avoid repetition, I draw your attention to ‘essence’ summary in eBook (A “new” U / The “‘GIFTS”’ of JOY). Here you have three “key” concepts ::: ‘Be-ing’ / ‘Be-coming’ ::: ‘Birthing’ / ‘Bonding’ /  ‘Baptising’ ::: ‘Affirming / Blessing / Celebrating’.

Our ‘title / theme’ draws us into the ‘mystery’ of the Gospel parable (Matthew 13:44-46) where Jesus the Christ says ::: “the kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for the joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field” ::: “the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it”. These stories manifest how ‘human beings’ have a basic desire to ‘pursue’ with a ‘passion’ all that is ‘possible’, and reveal ‘depths of meaning’ (in a trinitarian dynamic) ::: “Find” / “Sell” / “Buy” ::: ‘Finding’ means ‘awakening’ / ‘Selling’ means ‘detaching’ / ‘Buying’ means ‘committing’.

An unfortunate ‘fall-out’ from “The Fall” is that we tend to ‘take refuge’ in ‘default’ mode i.e. ‘we go into hiding’ / ‘we pull down the shutters’ / ‘we – in effect – imprison ourselves’. As a consequence, we are not ‘open’ to ‘Contingency / Contingency / Contingency’ (see: Blog 15/1/17) in terms of God’s 3 G’s (‘Gift / Grace / Glory’) ::: and, we are ‘blind’ to our personal 3R’s (‘Receive / Restore / Return’).

To ‘Be’ the person created by God, to ‘Be’, that person has (first) to ‘Become’ the person created by God, to ‘Become’. This ‘social / spiritual’ ‘formation process’ demands the intervention of a ‘significant’ other person (i.e. an ‘other Christ’) who ‘Affirms Blesses Celebrates’ the person in terms of  their unique ‘value and identity’ and, the person, in turn ‘Accepts Believes Consents’ to their own ‘goodness’.

It is a fact of life ::: a person stands ‘alone’ in his own ‘unique’ self, either “weakly, inadequately and unhappy”, or “firmly, strongly and happily”. If he perceives himself to be “Good Lovable Open Worthwhile” (“GLOW”) he will ‘possess’ himself strongly and firmly. For this sense of one’s own ‘firmness’ each human being is totally dependent on another human being’s gift of ‘affirmation’ (as researched and written about by Dr. Conrad Baars and Dr. Anna Terruwe).

It’s a ‘strange’ phenomena – in the sense that we are ‘strangers’ to its relevance –  that ‘human beings’ (‘affectively and effectively’) need “three births” ::: ‘Single Social Spiritual’ to “find” themselves and to “fulfil” themselves.

A “33” to ponder ::: ‘Christ : is our WAY / is our TRUTH / is our LIFE’
